Teen NEET Aspirant Found Safe After Five-Day Disappearance: A Journey from Kota to Home Amidst Homesickness Concerns

In a heartwarming turn of events, Aryan Mitra, a 17-year-old NEET aspirant from Siliguri, West Bengal, has been safely found after a harrowing five-day disappearance. Mitra, who was pursuing his studies in Kota, a city renowned for its coaching centers, unexpectedly left his hostel on February 21st, sparking concern and a frantic search.

The young student's sudden departure was driven by a deep sense of homesickness, compelling him to embark on a journey back to his family, albeit without their knowledge. Fearing his parents' disapproval, Aryan chose to sever all communication, leaving his whereabouts a mystery and intensifying worries about his safety.

Prompted by the gravity of the situation, the hostel manager reported Aryan missing on February 22nd, prompting the Kota City Police, under the guidance of Superintendent Amrita Duhan, to launch an extensive search operation. The police, leveraging both traditional and technological investigative methods, received a crucial tip about Aryan's presence between Sealdah and Jalpaiguri in West Bengal.

In a remarkable display of coordination and determination, a dedicated police team, alongside Aryan's anxious parents, managed to locate and rescue him from Jalpaiguri. The reunion marked the end of a tense period for the family and authorities alike, ensuring Aryan's safety and his return under the protective wing of his loved ones and the police.

Aryan's odyssey included brief stays in various cities, including Agra and Ayodhya, as he navigated his way through Jaunpur and Varanasi, finally aiming to reach Jalpaiguri from Sealdah. His journey underscores the emotional challenges faced by students far from home, spotlighting the broader issue of mental health and support for those in academic pursuits away from their familial comfort.

This incident sheds light on the increasing phenomenon of student disappearances in Kota, a city that has recently seen similar cases, including the distressing disappearance of an IIT-JEE aspirant and the tragic outcome for another student. It calls for a renewed focus on the mental well-being of students in these high-pressure environments, ensuring they have the support and resources to cope with the challenges they face.
