Populism may get a party or its leaders some votes or even power, but does not offer credibility in the long run. Promising guarantees, but not being honest towards fulfilling them breed dissatisfaction among the people who look upto the government and its leaders for justice and timely action.

Within a short period of time, grace marks were disapproved and re-examination directed as per directions of the Supreme Court. Yesterday, our very own Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan proudly announced that strong action will be taken against the NTA, its functionaries and all those involved in the unfair conduct of NEET and other wrong doings. He also advocated for reforms in the NTA and its functioning even though it is an autonomous body.
This is a big change from his earlier stand of giving the NTA a clean chit and this good news needs to be welcomed by everyone as a positive development in our favour.
