Massive protest by Doctors in Delhi

New Delhi
29/10/2023

In a stunning display of unity and determination, more than ten thousand doctors and healthcare workers participated in a massive rally in Delhi today. The rally began at Maulana Azad Medical College and was intended to reach Rajghat, but police set up heavy barricades, prompting the doctors to stage a powerful protest by sitting on the road for over an hour.

This extraordinary gathering included over 100 ambulances, forming a mile-long procession that showcased the unwavering support of healthcare professionals. Every branch of the Delhi Medical Association (DMA), along with doctors from various nursing homes, the Indian Dental Association, and the Residents Doctors Association of Delhi Hospitals, stood shoulder to shoulder in this important event.

The doctors were protesting against the unfair treatment they've been subjected to by authorities and the alarming rise in violence against healthcare workers. This rally, like no other, came to a resounding conclusion at Shaheedi Park, symbolizing the determination and resilience of those who dedicate their lives to the well-being of others.

Leading this historic procession were prominent figures in the medical community, including DMA President Dr. Ashwini Dalmiya, Chairman Dr. Vinay Agrwal, Chief Coordinator Dr. Arun Gupta, Convenor Dr. Girish Tyagi, Secretary DMA club Dr Girish Tiwari  and numerous other senior medical activists. The rally in Delhi served as a powerful testament to the strength and unity of the medical community in their fight for justice and a safer environment for healthcare workers.
