The lessons of Indian Education is a paradox that hurts deep down as we reluctantly admit that the overall educational environment is actually ' Un educational ' for what we see and sense is a strong element of dilution or compromise with the best, finest and highest academic standards.

The recent scandals in education point to the saddest reality that we are yet to consider education as the only potent tool in our hands to elevate India as a great nation. Thanks to compromises and academic standards of a disturbed conscience which are sickeningly widespread in our society.

Yet we talk of making India ' Vishwa - Guru ". Agreed that we have many truly great institutions of learning on the strength of which India has made its mark in the world. But, when larger number of institutions languish under general apathy, how is the country expected to rise to great heights ?.

Currently, the idea of excellence in education is restricted to a select few segments of the society. Until education is drawn to all levels of excellence, it would be futile about becoming a global leader. Hence, the larger Indian society needs to reinvent its idea of education. The ' New Education Policy ' is national deception with the need to start correcting wrong ideas about universal education and the nation starts treating uncompromised excellence in education as a religious matter.
