In a heartwarming and inspiring story of dedication and determination, Sangam city neurosurgeon Dr. Prakash Khaitan, a 49-year-old medical professional, embarked on a unique journey. He prepared for and appeared in the all-India entrance exam, NEET (UG)-2023, alongside his 18-year-old daughter, Mitali. The result? Both father and daughter not only qualified for the exam but also achieved remarkable success. This extraordinary feat serves as a testament to the power of motivation, commitment, and the unwavering belief in one's abilities.
During exam times, many parents resort to traditional methods of scolding, close monitoring, and even nagging to ensure their children's success, particularly when it comes to professional entrance exams. Dr. Prakash Khaitan, however, chose a path less traveled. Instead of pressuring his daughter, he decided to motivate her by being her study companion.
Dr. Khaitan's decision to prepare for the NEET (UG)-2023 exam alongside his daughter wasn't a simple one. He is a renowned neurosurgeon with a demanding schedule, attending to a heavy load of patients and surgeries. Nevertheless, his determination and love for his daughter propelled him to undertake this unique challenge.
Dr. Prakash Khaitan, a Guinness World Records holder for performing an eight-hour surgery on an eight-year-old girl and removing 296 cysts from her brain, exemplifies a level of commitment that is truly remarkable. His dedication to both his medical profession and his daughter's education is nothing short of inspirational.
For Dr. Khaitan, this endeavor marked a return to the world of entrance exams after a gap of more than 30 years. He once appeared for the CPMT in 1992, which led to his admission to MLN Medical College, Prayagraj (then known as Allahabad). After completing his MBBS, he pursued an MS (surgery) in 1999 and M.Ch (neurosurgery) in 2003 from King George Medical College, Lucknow.
Throughout this journey, Dr. Khaitan provided unwavering support and guidance to his daughter, Mitali. He constantly motivated her to put in the hard work and dedication needed to excel in the NEET (UG)-2023 exam. His experience and expertise as a medical professional undoubtedly played a pivotal role in her preparation.
During the NEET (UG)-2023 exam, Dr. Khaitan and his daughter were assigned different exam centers. He appeared at a center in Shivkuti, while Mitali took her exam in Jhunsi. When the results were announced in June, Mitali secured over 90 percentile, while Dr. Khaitan achieved an impressive 89 percentile.
The journey of Dr. Prakash Khaitan and his daughter carries a powerful message: there is no age limit for learning and no obstacle too great to overcome with commitment and hard work. This story serves as an inspiration not only to his daughter but to everyone who believes in the pursuit of knowledge and the importance of unwavering dedication.
