Violence against doctors were already a common occurrence, but of late rape, murder and other criminal activities have overtaken the atrocities bringing about no radical change in the security system, a demand that the medical profession has been consistently putting forward.
The alleged rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata recently is another glaring example of an inept hospital administration's inability and other security agencies in protecting our doctors on duty.
Merely demanding a CBI probe or removing a few not so innocent is surely not an answer to this ever-growing problem which demands some more serious thinking and determined action.
Neither can making a few more laws really help - what is actually needed is a strong political will to execute the already existing laws besides enunciating new ones.

Merely writing letters does not serve any useful purpose, this necessitates a more aggressive approach if satisfactory results are desired. But the big question is " How many more precious lives do we need to lose to alter the course of history ? "
